We are committed to identifying and implementing people-centered solutions at the intersection of urban design, landscape architecture, ecology, mobility, and civic engagement.

WHAT WE DO

We are an idea incubator and laboratory for solutions, focused on evolving the planning and design practice for a changing world. Drawing on our collective experience in private practice as planners, urban designers, and landscape architects, we strive to impact communities and our profession through:

THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

Developing and sharing the tools and best practices needed to address emerging local needs and foster innovation.

APPLIED RESEARCH

Conducting research and analysis to identify and test new approaches to contemporary planning and design practice.

PLACE-BASED DESIGN + POLICY SOLUTIONS

Working directly with and for communities by providing planning and design assistance, policy analysis, meaningful civic engagement opportunities, and pilot project implementation.

OUR PRIORITIES

Defining a design language for creating inspiring and inclusive public places that bring people and communities together – from streets and parks to smaller shared spaces.

Creating distinctive, people-centered places that reconnect communities and provide an equitable range of housing, travel, amenity, and employment choices.

Advancing equitable and restorative design solutions to address today’s environmental challenges, including climate change and its impacts on people and places.

Planning and designing inclusive communities that nurture physical, social, and mental health and well-being at all stages of life.

Facilitating meaningful community decision-making and vision-setting to solve today’s built environment challenges.
